The Wits Junction student housing is located in Parktown Johannesburg. The design of nine hundred and seventy-five furnished residential units had to include existing heritage buildings, trees of heritage interest and existing student accommodation.

The completed precinct has 14 student residence buildings that each feature a distinctive courtyard that provides each building with a unique identity.

The courtyards provide interactive circulation space and also ensure that most units have a view away from the buildings onto the surrounding landscaping. The materials palette of red face brick walls with plastered and painted feature walls, and simplified window and entrance configurations were introduced to reduce maintenance costs. Planted green walls create a residential village-type experience that minimises the impact of the extensive use of face brick for the students living in the units.
